Gianni Bencich is a Peruvian composer of acoustic, electroacoustic and conceptual music.
His recent work is centered on the formalization of aesthetic experience as a compositional plane, using material aesthetic and immaterial content perception to dHis work is centered on the formalization of aesthetic experience as a compositional plane through the use of aesthetic-morphological eigenvalue construction and multi-scale temporal design.
He studied music composition at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, where he graduated with the first place of the School of Contemporary Arts. His music usually integrates his eclectic upbringing and includes influences from pre-Columbian Andean/Mesoamerican music, noise music and glitchy electronics. His works have been played in Latin America, Europe and the US.
From 2016 to 2019, he was the director of Musuq, a non-profit organization for the creation and promotion of new music, with special emphasis on Peruvian composers and new technology.
He is also a founding member and collaborator of the Peruvian Community for Sound Studies, and an occasional improviser on piano, viola, electronics and Andean instruments.
